WAEN PRESENTS : THE ART OF SUMINAGASHI

Working in collaboration with Buoyant Press, the workshop introduced particpants to the mediative and ancient Japanese art of Suminagashi.
Suminagashi translates ‘ink floating’. With a guided practice from Karolina Slup of Buoyant Press, we learnt how to embrace painting on water where particpants created their unique pieces. Suminagashi is a fascinating medium to embrace within health and wellness as it is said that every emotion of the maker becomes registered in the pattern made.

WAEN AT FESTIVAL OF COMMUNITY, STAFFORDSHIRE ST

Exhibition, Staffordshire Street Market
August 2023
WAEN took part in the exhibition gallery at Stafford St at the Project Market which was part of Southwark’s Festival of Community. What’s a project market? Imagine a carboot sale mixed with trade show mixed with village hall mixed with freshers fair. That’s a project market.
The project market was an opportunity to take WAEN into a physical space to discuss the intentions and upcoming events and ideas. It was a wonderful opportunity to be in a showcase alongside other local grassroot initatives in South East London.
